Julia Muench: music creator, educator, composer and pianist. She also works and creates in the areas of dance and film. Julia has a wide range of experience working with adults and children in the areas of music, piano, voice, musical composition, dance, choreography and film.
Julia's recent activities:
Working with her creative collaborative coalition "Live Art at the
Synapse" in Red Bank, NJ with contemporary performance artists, Robin Candrea and Mary Wagner creating original compositions for movement. Upcoming events TBA.
Producing a benefit concert for the Town of Highlands, NJ that
included some of her original compositions for piano, her composition Prismatika (2006) newly choreographed by dancer Mary Wagner, Blue Bell Sway (2006) choral selections, and a wide range of composers, including styles of music from Philip Glass, Fats Waller and Mozart. Program available upon request.
Preparing her student and composer, John Dupuis, who performed in a benefit concert for the Community Presbyterian Church in Mountainside, NJ, performing his own original works Forest Dream, Raindrop and Seafoam for piano. The proceeds went to support the Weldon FOP foundation.
Working with her newly formed group "Live Art at the Synapse" in Red Bank, NJ on original music and choreography, Julia recently brought in "Dance on Camera 2006" from New York for a special engagement in Red Bank, New Jersey, as a part of the Dance Film Association tour in which her film "Moondance" was also included. Julia premiered her dance film "Moondance" this past January at the Black Box theatre in Long Branch and also as part of the "Dance on Camera" series in Red Bank, NJ.
Julia has a Master's Degree in Music from the University of Miami and has training in Dalcroze music education from Juilliard. She also teaches a large class of piano students, beginning to advanced in piano and composition and is on the faculty at the Monmouth
Conservatory. She composes original piano pieces for her students.
